Modified Winter Bumper

It snow constantly in houghton, this means there is a lot of snow accumulation on cars, especially in the front bumper lower lip area where ice just builds up. Here's all the ice I pulled out of my front lip on my bumper, probably 20-30 pounds of dead weight.

Solution, cut of the bottom lip to plow less snow and stop the accumulation of ice.

It was really easy to do, just used a heavy duty shears made for cutting sheet metal. The trick is to cut off the majority first leaving about an inch because it's kind of hard getting a straight cut with thick plastic at first. Then the second pass should be much easier to get a clean straight cut. Some issues are that there are attachment points on the bumper that I ended up cutting off and the inner fender liner needs to be zip tied up, but with the bumper being lighter, the attachment points aren't that critical and the colored zip ties add awesome ruggedness to it.

Another issue with removing the bottom lip is that it makes the A/C condenser and radiator a little more vulnerable to being hit by ice that would be broken up by the lip, minor issues, aluminum has already been purchased to protect that area.
